Who Are We?
Serving Hope is a fast-growing community resource located in Fayetteville, NC. It was founded by Trisha James, twenty years ago when a strange woman knocked on her door and asked for a sandwich. From there a passion and a desire to serve others within the community was ignited. Whether it was a sandwich, a cup of water or a box of food, Trisha was determined to be of assistance to those who needed it the most. After growing up in such a harsh environment and experiencing severe hardship herself it became a lifelong dream of hers to pay it forward in ways many would never have imagined. Trish James has promoted, sponsored, planned, coordinated and has been the lead administrator of numerous events over the years. In 2020, when COVID-19 hit, her family was displaced due to previous hurricanes that left her home in shambles instead of focusing on her on difficult situations she began making trips to Dunn, NC in order to pass out food throughout the community, beginning with her own neighborhood. By March of 2021, Trisha was passing out hundreds and thousands of food boxes a month thanks to community resources and private donors. From there we have continued to grow and expand passing out countless hygiene packages, bookbags to foster children, furniture and clothing.

Trisha James, begun Hot Plates for the Homeless a community initiative to where she caters a hot meal for not just the homeless but the community through join efforts, she has been able to feed hundreds on her own and over 1,600 during joint community efforts. In 2022, she launched Bridging the Gap which is a program that was designed to promote peace and unity among the communities as a whole. In 2021, Serving Hope Donated over 20 prefilled book bags as well as cleaning supplies to Falcon’s Children’s Home. It is her desire to open a Thrift Store, Shelter, Group Home as well as several Transitional Homes for those in need. She has constantly described what she does as not just a community work but a movement in which she constantly invites others to join her along the way.
She is a leader, a game changer, a catalyst, strategist, a visionary, an innovator, a mother, a wife, a business owner, an entrepreneur, who is in the process of writing her first book. She is constantly evolving, allowing herself to continue to grow so that she can bring change to those who she selflessly serves.
